Job Description
We are looking for an HVAC Chiller Technician to join our team! You will install, service, and repair heating and air conditioning systems.
Responsibilities:
Install new heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems
Inspect and perform equipment repairs and replacements
Perform preventative maintenance
Respond to emergency maintenance requests
Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
In addition to these responsibilities, you will:
Perform routine maintenance on chiller systems, including cleaning, adjusting, and replacing parts to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
Diagnose and repair malfunctions in chiller systems, utilizing knowledge of refrigeration principles and electrical schematics to identify issues and implement solutions.
Install new chiller systems, following blueprints and manufacturer instructions to ensure proper setup and operation.
Test and balance refrigerant levels in chiller systems, using gauges and other tools to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and to maintain system efficiency.
Monitor and adjust building automation systems (BAS) for chiller operations, optimizing performance and energy use while ensuring comfort in the serviced environments.
Provide technical support and guidance to clients or facility managers on the operation and maintenance of chiller systems, including troubleshooting advice and recommendations for system improvements.
Document all maintenance, repair, and installation activities, maintaining detailed records of work performed, parts used, and time spent to ensure accurate billing and inventory management.
Research and implement new chiller technologies or modifications to existing systems to improve efficiency, reduce costs, or comply with new environmental regulations, staying ahead of industry trends and innovations.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in commercial HVAC
Experience working on RTUs, pumps and chillers
Familiarity with HVAC wiring diagrams
Completion of an HVAC training program at a vocational school or apprenticeship
Current state HVAC technician license
Certification through the Environmental Protection Agency to handle refrigerants required
Proficient with manual and power tools
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Reliable and self-motivated
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
Ability to handle physical workload
