JOB PURPOSE:
To help in the transport of patients via wheelchair, stretcher, or gurney to the operating room, x-ray department, and other locations around the facility.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Transports the patient from the ER to their respective room; brings the patient to an x-ray, ultrasound, or other unit for any procedure to be done.
Performs basic nursing procedures such as lifting, turning, and changing the linen of bedridden patients.
Check the numbers of oxygen tanks and oxygen gauges to be ready for every patient's use; replace an empty oxygen tank with a full tank.
Performs functions designated by staff nurses.
Checks all equipment together with the staff nurse on duty and ensures that they are functioning.
Removes all used or discontinued equipment from the patient area, cleans it, and returns it to the stock room or CSR.
Secure oxygen gauges, the suction apparatus, and other equipment needed in the unit.
Other tasks may be assigned from time to time.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Any allied health care courses or certification of health care courses at government agencies.
Knowledge in Patient Care
Effective verbal and listening communication skills.
