Position Overview: Electrical/Civil/General Contracting - Project Coordinator

Pre-Con and Construction Project Coordination of EV Charging Infrastructure

Our Project Managers are expected to work directly with clients to oversee large Public DCFC Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Projects. This includes the lifecycle stages from initial client consultation, to design, procurement, construction, and client acceptance.

Roles: Working alongside Project Manager(s) to assist them with completing the following tasks:

Service Project Setup and Estimating:

- Attend customer meetings to determine scope of work, design specifics, and potential risks

- Develop scope of work, RFP/RFQ to engage engineers and necessary pre-con companies, engage subcontractors, suppliers, use own experience to develop construction budget, schedule, and produce a design-build client proposal

- Review client/vendor contracts, identify risks, and effectively negotiate a mutually beneficial agreement.

Pre-Con and Construction Project Coordination:

- Attend site, engage utilities, and work with pre-con team to develop IFC design

- Oversee and coordinate all in-house staff, and vendors to ensure project is completed on-time, on-budget, and to the highest standards in safety and quality

- Manage change order processes, budget adjustments, and monthly billings

- Update schedules, PM software, and reporting daily

Requirements:

- Experience in working on construction projects as a coordinator or supervisor

- Ability to manage monthly invoices, client billing, and multiple project schedules

- Familiarity with reading and interpreting engineering drawings, contracts, and risk identification

- Proficiency in utilizing various software including Outlook, Excel, Word, PDFs, and project management tools

- Procuring materials through suppliers

- Excellent communication, organization and scheduling skills

Beneficial Skills:

- Experience in working on “Design-Build” construction projects, including coordinating subcontractors and in-house staff

- Electrical trade certificate (Red Seal, FSR Class A or B) or equivalent experience

- Engineering degree and/or P-Eng stamp

- Experience with Civil Works and/or utility design/installs

- Experience in estimating and design using Accubid estimating programs (Bidwinner Plus, Change Order Pro, Etc.)

- Knowledge of electrical utilities like BC Hydro, Fortis, etc., and experience dealing with municipalities/government

- Familiarity with building codes (CEC, CSA, or equivalent)

- Skills in CAD, Foxit, Visio, Bluebeam, demand loading reports, EV-ready plans, and/or detailed project scheduling

- Direct customer relations, business development, and technological adaptation

- Understanding of contracts, proficiency in writing them, and familiarity with construction industry programs (e.g., Pro-core, Sage 300)

- Exposure to COR safety and INS certification

- Willingness to travel across Western Canada for project oversight

- French and/or additional languages

- Ability to manager 20+ projects at different stages through the design-build process

- Can type 40+ wpm

- Thrives on embracing new challenges to enhance skill sets and accomplish tasks thoroughly

- Proficient in identifying and presenting multiple solutions to challenges
