Detailer/Designer

Local Sign Company excelling at the latest Signage for Interior and Exterior designs. From traditional signs, to top of the line digital designs. Gas Station, Fast Food, Restaurants, Mini Marts, and more. These signs can be LED, Neon, Pole signs, or Monument signs. With an ever growing business that has been in business for over 120 years, Visual Communications is ever changing.

The Detailer/Designer is an essential position at Federal Heath that starts the production process in our Delaware facility. The position requires a lot of versatility throughout the day as the scope for the position can be quite large. This position also requires excellent communication skills as this position will be required to communicate with multiple departments (AMS, Plant Floor, Estimating). The Detailer/Designer will work with multiple technologies throughout the day such as: Corel Draw, Enroute, AutoCAD, Flexi, SignWizard, Microsoft Excel, AS400, Lantech, etc. The person in this position should be at least familiar with most of the technology and have a willingness to learn.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Create Bill of Materials

Create Cut Files for Router/CNC Equipment

Create CAD drawings and art work for the shop floor by using programs like Corel Draw and AutoCAD (drafting skills)

o Custom detailing includes channel letter design, concept design, layout of graphics, populating LED drawings, doorskin variation)

Work with Purchasing on various materials and sizes available for purchase

Order items from internal and external sources when needed

Learn all production floor machines

o Be able to set up programs when needed

o Familiarity with other machines (brake, sheers)

Be able to create and follow SOPs

Must be able to create and understand electrical layouts

Send finished documents to scheduling to be released for production

Program machines (strippet) punch press machine

Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must have basic computer skills in programs such as (Corel Draw, Enroute, AutoCAD, Flexi, SignWizard, Microsoft Office, AS400)

You will have to be self-sufficient and able to work well with others.

Basic knowledge of 6S and LEAN practices a plus.

Great communication skills, including email, phone and face to face communications.

Strong attention to detail

Must have a strong sense of urgency with the ability to meet tight deadlines

Must be resourceful when information is not readily available

Must have working knowledge of signs and sign components

Graphic design experience very helpful

Education

Associates degree in Graphic Design helpful but not required

HS Diploma/GED required

Experience Requirements

2 years of experience in a similar position

1ST Shift 7 am - 3: 30 pm $17.50 an hour. Overtime hours are 6 am - 4: 30 pm and some Saturday's.

This is a 90 Day Temp to Hire opportunity.
