Job Summary
The Wholesale Closer is an intermediate level role within the operations team. The Wholesale Closer is responsible for preparing the Initial CD, ensuring TRID timing is met, preparing the closing package, and balancing the final CD. The Wholesale Closer reviews all documentation to confirm it’s correct while ensuring all underwriting requirements are met. This role is important to ensure all parties have a smooth, error-free closing experience.
Summary of Role and Responsibilities
Review file documents for accuracy of closing figures and details to prepare the closing package and release the final closing documents for signing
Prepare initial closing disclosures (CDs) for Texas Loans and submit specific loan documents in the file for the TX attorney to review after the Initial CD has been issued.
Review funding documents, clear funding conditions, and prepare funding authorization
Initiate wire requests for funding
Perform change of circumstance and re-disclose to the borrower
Work with title to prepare final balanced CD and have closing doc signed and applicable
Communicate with the CTC Team as needed to review any required changes after the loan is clear to close (CTC)
Other tasks as requested by manager
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of experience as a mortgage closer
3+ years of experience in the mortgage industry
Knowledge of TRID/RESPA regulations
Knowledge of loan closings for purchase and refinance transactions
Knowledge of conventional and government loans
Soft Skills
Strong attention to detail
Self-motivated
Ability to adapt to change and problem solve
Team oriented
Ability to multi-task several loans
Ability to maintain accuracy and organization in a fast paste environment
Willingness to learn and receive constructive feedback
Excellent written and oral communication
