ASSISTANT CITY ENGINEER-ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

The City of Watertown is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to serve in the role of the Assistant City Engineer. Candidates in this role will support professional and supervisory duties involving the management, coordination, short and long-term planning, and organization of the Engineering Division to provide maintenance of structures, and facilities such as roads, bridges, dams, and storm sewer systems and in developing solutions to engineering problems. Candidates in this role will assist in management of the City's Storm Water Utility.

Candidates will work under the direction of the Director of Public Works/City Engineer while performing assignments relating to the design and development of municipal projects. Assignments are broad in nature and afford the exercise of independent judgment in accomplishing program and effectiveness of operations. This role will be responsible for supervising the activities of technical and professional employees as well as indirectly supervising other employees.

Requirements: Graduation from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited four (4) year college or university with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering with five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in municipal engineering, some at a supervisory level and registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Wisconsin, or ability to obtain within six months of employment, and an equivalent combination of training and experience which would provide the following knowledge, skill and ability.

This full-time position with a schedule of Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:30 pm, occasional evening and weekends as needed. Wage is available upon request.
