Columbus Oncology is looking for an Infusion Pharmacy Tech to join our oncology team! This position supports our current operations in Columbus and the Dublin Cancer Center. Our pharmacy team works in close cooperation with our infusion nursing staff and our physicians and advanced practice providers to supply cancer therapy to our patients in our infusion suites. This is a full-time position, working Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm (no weekends and paid time off for holidays!).

What will you do?

The Pharmacy Tech owns the technical aspects of medication preparation, distribution, record keeping, inventory control, as well as ordering PO & IV Chemotherapy medications through our wholesalers.

This work involves:

Sterile compounding of chemotherapy and other intravenous medications upon physician's orders in a manner compliant with USP<707> and USP <800>.

Checking all orders for completeness; verifying ordered dose and admix volume with what is pulled to admix the medication.

Calculating correct dosage volumes, converting between metric and apothecary equivalents. Counting controlled drugs weekly and maintaining records.

Maintaining current drug information; properly disposing of all materials used when mixing chemo or non-chemo IVs; cleaning of hood and admix rooms at a frequency consistent with policies.

Overseeing pharmaceutical inventory including ordering, restocking, and LOT/expiration tracking using our computer system.

Ordering all clinical supplies for the pharmacy, infusion area and clinic; reconciling invoices.

Assuring all medication management responsibilities are completed in a safe, effective, secure and regulatory compliant manner

Staying current on relevant pharmacotherapy topics. Attending training classes, programs, and departmental meetings.

Providing assistance as needed to other medical personnel, such as pharmacists, physicians and nurses.

What will you need to be successful?

Pharmacy Technician License (Required)

Ability to work an 8-hour shift, Mon-Fri

Desire to work with a highly-motivated team, where teamwork and autonomy are highly valued

Sterile compounding lab: 1 year (Preferred)

Previous hazardous drug compounding: and (Highly preferred)
