PDRI by Pearson, is currently looking for a Junior Project Manager to join our fast-paced consulting organization.

The Junior Project Manager at PDRI is responsible assisting more senior staff of 5-10 Program and Project Managers who oversee highly matrixed teams for the delivery of client projects involving PDRI’s Information Technology platforms, products, and services. The Junior Project Manager, under supervision, may also be tasked with oversight of small-scale low risk projects within the PMO portfolio. This position would be tasked with a wide range of activities to ensure the smooth execution and coordination of various aspects of the PMO’s projects.

Responsibilities

As a member of the PMO Client Delivery team, the Junior Project Manager is responsible for the following:

Project Planning and Scheduling: Assist in creating project plans, including defining objectives, tasks, timelines, and resource requirements. Collaborate with the project manager, as well as other key positions to develop realistic project schedules.

Task Assignment and Tracking: Assign tasks to team members based on their skills, workload, and project requirements. Monitor and track task progress to ensure timely completion and adherence to the project schedule.

Communication and Coordination: Facilitate effective communication between team members, stakeholders, and other project stakeholders. Act as a central point of contact for project-related inquiries and information dissemination.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain project documentation, including meeting minutes, project plans, status reports, and other relevant records. Prepare and distribute regular project status reports, summarizing progress, issues, and upcoming milestones. Assign and monitor the completion of action items for projects as needed.

Risk and Issue Management: Assist in identifying project risks and issues and ensuring they are properly documented and mitigated. Collaborate with the project manager and team to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.

Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with project stakeholders to gather requirements, expectations, and feedback. Provide updates to stakeholders on project progress, issues, and changes, maintaining a high level of transparency.

Quality Control: Monitor project deliverables to ensure they meet the specified quality standards. Coordinate reviews and quality assurance processes to identify and address any quality concerns. Work with the Project Managers and PMO leadership to identify and initiate internal project with the goal of improving PMO processes and procedures to improve outputs and achieve the highest levels of client satisfaction.

Training and Support: Provide training and support to team members on project management tools, processes, and methodologies. Develop training materials and provide training to PDRI customers regarding the PDRI assessment platforms and processes.

Continuous Improvement: The role of a project coordinator is instrumental in maintaining project organization, ensuring effective collaboration, and facilitating the achievement of project goals within the defined scope, schedule, and budget. Their coordination and support greatly contribute to the successful completion of projects.

Business Development: Support and coordinate with Business Development to support recompetes, on-contract growth, and new business development efforts including bid and proposal activities.

Monitor Project Financials: Assist Project Managers with adherence to budget and profit targets. Work with the Project Managers and Accounting in the creation of formal budgets and Estimates at Completion (EAC), and tracking to plan, as well as to ensuring that the financial reports and resources are available to the team so that they may properly monitor the financial health of their projects. Work with Project/Program Managers to ensure accurate project charging

Help Desk Guidance: Work closely with the Help Desk team in the support of customer issue handling, resolution, and tracking Qualifications

Excellent communication and organizational skills

A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology or related field required.

Minimum of 1 - 2 years of project management experience required; 2+ years of experience in a related field or position preferred

U.S. citizenship required

Experience delivering products and services related to HR Hiring processes preferred (e.g. automated assessment products and related services)

PMP certification preferred, or ability to obtain

Experience managing government contract delivery including firm-fixed price, Time and Material, Cost Plus preferred
