This Full-time Opportunity will work 80 hours bi-weekly.

Evening and Weekend shifts

Job Summary

Supports, and is responsible for incorporating into job performance, the Frederick Health (FH) mission, vision, core values and customer service philosophy and adheres to the FH Compliance Program, including following all regulatory requirements and the FH Standards of Behavior.

Assists ED Crisis staff with communications, disposition, admission, and transfer of patients. Communicates with healthcare and community professionals to facilitate comprehensive patient care.Functions within the limits of the hospital and nursing department policies and procedures.

Example of Essential Functions:

Assists crisis staff with communications, disposition, admission, and transfer of ED Crisis patients.

Demonstrates the ability to prioritize, organize and execute actions that support the departmental operations in a professional collaborative manner.

Actively engages in the promotion of positive staff morale and work environment.

Contacts and facilitates admissions to hospitals for the transfer of ED Crisis patients.

Prepares all clinical documents for review to admission department or intake facility.

Initiates referrals to PPHPs and substance abuse rehabilitation services per the instruction of the Crisis staff.

Assists with receiving phone calls for admission, transfer and pre-authorization to the next level of care.

Initiates insurance pre-authorizations. Collects signatures as needed for admissions and release of patient information.

Knowledge of medical terminology and experience in mental health.

Meets with management as needed to review and discuss procedure updates. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Must have excellent attention to detail.

Knowledge with CPT, ICD 10 codes, medical terminology Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Required:

Minimum requirement a Bachelor’s degree.

CPR Certification

Background in mental health preferred.

Awkward Posture:Posture is the position your body is in and its effect on the muscle groups that are involved in the physical activity.Awkward postures include repeated or prolonged reaching, twisting, bending, kneeling, squatting, working overhead with your hands or arms, or holding fixed positions.

Contact Stress:Pressing the body hard on sharp edges can result in placing too much pressure on nerves, tendons, and blood vessels.For example, using the palm of your hand to hit or stick objects can increase risk of musculoskeletal disorders.

Working Conditions:

Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Risk:Category A – WILL have exposure to blood or body fluids.

Emergency Department conditions – patients with unpredictable behaviors, unpleasant sounds, odors
