Amazon is looking for a Business Developer. This candidate will partner in launching a new start-up from the beginning of its life cycle, and will lead sales generation with small to medium sized customers.

Amazon Freight is building systems and capabilities to ensure that external shippers’ freight in the Amazon network (vendors, suppliers, sellers) is moved with the highest service and lowest possible costs. To meet this goal, we are continually striving to innovate and provide best-in-class service levels. You will efficiently negotiate terms and close deals with external shippers. Internally, you will work with functions that cut across the organization including legal, technology, marketing, transportation, and customer service to drive great customer experience for our program.

You will communicate with senior stakeholders within the Amazon Leadership team, as well as work with leaders at major companies to strengthen partner relations. You will build customized, innovative logistics solutions, drive process improvement, standardize procedures and negotiate.

Key job responsibilities

Prospect to identify, create and qualify opportunities

Work with Business Development to ensure the opportunity is understood and that next steps are clearly defined

Once qualified, you will use opportunity management processes to ensure that opportunities are handed off to appropriate Business Development resources in a timely, customer friendly manner

Your success will be measured by achievement of individual and team activity and opportunity creation goals

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $43,500/yr in our lowest geographic market up to $87,500yr in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, or other benefits.
