The Position:

The Arc Shop Lab Supervisor/ Metallographer will be responsible for working with Operations, Maintenance, Scheduling, and other Technical Services personnel in the Melt Shop to improve processes and reduce costs.

DISCRETIONARY TARGET BONUS OF 12%

Responsibilities:

Work with Melt Shop to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities in throughput, yield, safety, and other key areas.

Lead or participate in teams addressing these issues.

Function as the primary resource in application of improvement methods.

Champion the concept of Continuous Improvement in assigned area through application or appropriate Quality tools.

Supervise Melt Shop Observers.

Other duties as assigned. Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy from a four-year college or university.

Two to five years of experience.

Excellent computer skills - including experience and competence in Microsoft Applications.

Mechanical aptitude and/or sound understanding of metallurgical and metal refinement processes required.

Must be capable of handling multiple tasks and priorities. The Location: Liberty Steel & Wire is based in Peoria, IL.
