Job Summary
The Sr. Scrum Master possesses a strong understanding of how Agile and Scrum frameworks deliver business value and how to support the team and organization with evolving its Scrum practices. The Sr. Scrum Master will work collaboratively with the Agile Coach in guiding software development in a new way of working. The Sr. Scrum Master will be responsible for the success of multiple Scrum teams. The Sr. Scrum Master will help mature their practices, identify and resolve impediments delaying progress or distracting them from achieving optimal performance, deliver business value, and continuously improve.
The Sr. Scrum Master will report to the Agile Coach - Software Development and is required to report to the Somerset, NJ office location.

Responsibilities
Include, but are not limited to:
Exhibit expert knowledge and application of Agile principles and frameworks (Scrum and Kanban)
Accountable for helping the team, product owners, and organization understand and apply Scrum theory and practices
Responsible for organizing and facilitating valuable Scrum events, trainings, and workshops
Manage projects using Agile management tools such as Azure, DevOps, and Jira
Regularly communicate delivery, reporting, and metrics to relevant stakeholders
Ensure team understands and appropriately applies Agile values and principles
Ensure team is effectively achieving Sprint goals
Support Product Owners with well written, communicated, and prioritized Product Backlog Items
Engage business to help remove obstacles preventing the team from delivering Sprint goals
Negotiate working agreements
Assist in managing risk and impediment resolution
Coach and mentor development teams to be self-organized and effective
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree IT or Computer Science preferred, or 10 years’ IT experience
Basic knowledge of software development processes and procedures
5+ years’ experience as a Project Manager and/or Scrum Master supporting Agile teams using Scrum or Kanban with a broad range of projects
1+ years’ experience as a Senior Scrum Master working with 2 or more software development teams
Experience with IT Scrum teams
Proven experience with servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
Working knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Understanding of the fundamentals of iterative and incremental development
Proficiency in MS office tools – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams
Experience facilitating and tracking Objectives & Key Results (OKRs)

Ability to help team identify anti-patterns or issues and identify solutions using basic root cause analysis
Ability to mentor less experienced Scrum Masters in the application of Scrum value, principles, and good practices

Ability to communicate with product, technical, and leadership teams clearly and effectively
Ability to effectively communicate with people in varying job roles including developers, analysts, product owners, application users, and company leadership
Strong follow-up skills and experience holding project teams accountable to quality
Strong understanding of the dynamics of cross-functional teams with the ability to creatively problem solve
Strong time management and organization skills

Certifications Required
Required Certification:
Advanced Certified Scrum Master (A-CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM II)
Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent
Preferred Certifications:
Advanced Certified Scrum Product Owner (A-CSPO) or equivalent
Certified Scrum Professional -Scrum Master (CSP-SM)
Additional Information
The estimated annual pay range for this position is $90,000 - $135,000. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
