We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting to join our accounting team. This role will lead a team of two revenue accountants and report to the Assistant Controller – SEC and Technical Accounting. Our accounting team adopts a flexible and hybrid work schedule (i.e.,ideally 1 day per week, but can be 1 day per month in our Billerica, MA headquarters). This role will work closely with senior management across the finance organization, lead multiple revenue workstreams, and serve as an advisor to our leaders on various revenue accounting topics.

What You’ll Do:

Manage the month-end close process for revenue and costs of revenue. Oversee the delivery of accurate and timely financial information to meet the needs of both internal and external reporting requirements.

Develop, maintain, and operationalize revenue accounting policies and processes.

Review customer contracts, change orders, SOWs, and purchase agreements to ensure appropriate revenue recognition treatment under ASC 606.

Oversee billing activities and provide inputs to strategic decisions that affect revenue streams and/or billing principles. Ensure timely and accurate invoicing to customers. Liaise with the Commercial and Customer Service teams accordingly.

Own the end-to-end process of all revenue stream processes and controls, collaborate with cross functional teams, and work independently with internal and external auditors.

Perform and document ASC 606 technical accounting analysis for complex and non-standard revenue transactions. Lead the review with management and external auditors.

Support revenue related disclosures and the preparation/review of revenue footnote schedules associated with SEC filings.

Identify and drive process improvement initiatives including automation and data analytics in creating efficiencies for our revenue processes and reducing close timelines.

Develop accounting policies and processes for any new revenue streams.

Manage ad hoc projects, as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

Global experience in both public accounting and publicly traded companies

Bachelor’s Degree in accounting

CPA

8+ years of experience in Revenue accounting

ASC 606

3+ years of people management experience

SEC financial reporting rules and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

U.S. GAAP

Experience with financial systems and ERP

MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Biotech / Medical Device / Diagnostics industry experience

Strong organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills

Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness

High attention to detail
