Position Purpose Statement: This role will report directly to the QA Manager. This role is responsible to ensure compliance of systems that ensure that food is processed, packaged and prepared according to the food preparation and food safety standards set by the company and regulatory organizations.

Primary Responsibilities and Accountabilities

This position will be responsible, but not limited to the following:

Routine support for Systems implemented, both through direct action and through the Audit assistant.

Managing and ensuring that the document components of the system remain valid and up to date.

Coordinating the linked system meetings and maintaining details of the conclusions of those meetings.

Ensuring that the CPAR process is effectively managed and sharing linked trends and patterns arising from that data.

Logging and supporting the investigation and documenting of customer complaints.

Constructing and maintaining Audit programs and schedules (both internal and external). Using this program to ensure the required quality, safety, hygiene and environmental standards are implemented and maintained.

Coordinating certifications (including government, religious and other certificates)

Assisting with COA clearance and communication with Labs to ensure results are received timeously.

Supporting projects with expansions of the Food Safety System (e.g. new equipment or buildings).

Ensuring the required quality, safety, hygiene and environmental standards are implemented, maintained and improved.

Ensuring hygiene standards, cleaning procedures, practices and equipment are continually re-evaluated and in line with best practice, customer guidelines and legislation.

Ensuring cleaning procedures in food manufacturing areas are maintained and correct use of cleaning materials (from handling, to storage and documentation).

Implementing and managing any electronic tools used to manage the FSMS.

Experience in proper implementation and maintenance of good food safety practices.

Qualifications and experience:

Degree in Food Science or related field

Strong Analytical Skills (MS Access, MS Excel Simulation, Operational Research)

HACCP and Food Safety Legislation knowledge

Good Interpersonal Relationships and Strong Communication Skills

Must be self-motivated, disciplined, ethical and confident

Excellent Organisational and Work Planning Skills

Attention to Detail and Results Driven

Computer literacy, Word, Microsoft, etc.

A minimum of 5 years relevant experience

English required and Afrikaans additional is preferred

Production environment with time pressure where a person needs to be able to deliver accurate results fast and be able to perform under pressure.

Needs to have a valid drivers license and own vehicle.

Continuous change person needs to be agile and adapt quickly.

Salary- R700 000pa CTC
