Job Description
The Packaging Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the production Staff and ensuring departmental safety and quality standards are maintained. In addition, this individual will help identify opportunities for improvement and drive their implementation.
Job RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure safety and quality standards are met.
Coach and mentor production employees to support organization development.
Train permanent and temporary employees in safety, quality, and basic equipment operation.
Understanding quality requirements and ability to serve as a night shift resource for the quality department for work-in process and finished goods testing and approval as needed.
Track and monitor performance to departmental KPIs.
Perform/monitor inventory transactions within the ERP/WMS systems.
Participate in Quality investigations and associated CAPA development.
Participate in Safety investigations
Actively participate in and support plant improvement activities.

Knowledge, SKILLS, AND ABILITiES:
Must have good listening and interpersonal communications skills
Must be able to effectively drive production team to meet the departmental expectations
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Excellent oral and written communication skills
EDUCATION: Minimum/High School diploma. College degree or related job experience a plus.
EXPERIENCE:
2-5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing setting.
1-3 years’ experience in a supervisory role
1-3 years’ experience with ERP systems
Physical Requirements:
Extended periods of standing.
Frequently lifts and moves items weighing up to 60 pounds.
