The Opportunity:

West Liberty University is seeking applications for an Assistant Professor of Psychology to begin in August 2024. This position is full time, in person, tenure track. A doctorate of psychology is preferred, however, ABD or Masters level candidates with teaching and/or clinical supervisory experience will also be considered.

The WLU psychology undergraduate and graduate programs are growing and WLU is a teaching focused institute. Candidates who are licensed or license eligible in WV as a psychologist (not as Licensed Professional Counselor) are preferred. Prior supervisory and teaching experience is preferred, and the ability and willingness to teach a wide range of courses would be an asset. Technological skills are also preferred. The faculty member may be asked to teach in both programs, to provide mentorship for undergraduate students, as well as provide supervision for master's students. The teaching load is typically 4/4 with potential course load reduction for graduate clinical supervision or research.

Candidates must have a strong interest in teaching, service, and clinical practice. Candidates must possess strong skills in communication, teamwork, and instruction.
