Practice Development Specialist

My client located in Chicago is looking for a Practice Development Specialist. The Practice Development Specialist will work closely with the Practice Development Managers to develop and implement firm-wide and attorney-specific marketing and business development projects and initiatives. The Specialist provides support to all of the practice development managers. The Specialist reports to one of the Practice Development Managers for HR and performance management, but assignments will come from numerous sources in the department. The Specialist is expected to understand and enhance the department's procedures, tools, and initiatives, keeping team members and supervisors informed about project statuses.

As the Practice Development Specialist, your duties will include but not be limited to:

Takes ownership of the Biography Management function. As a more senior member of the team, the Specialist will take ownership of the Biography Management function within the dept. While all of the PD staff will be involved in writing and editing bios, the Specialist will own the overall tracking and quality control of the bios.

Works with the Practice Development Manager to provide general support in practice group marketing support.

Collaborates with Practice Development Managers to create and execute marketing and practice development strategies.

Edits, maintains, and updates firmwide practice, industry group website pages.

Assists with developing RFP responses and client proposals.

Assists with newsletters, alerts, blogs and social media posts and other marketing content for the different practice groups

Assists with the development of legal directory and award submissions.

Identifies cross-practice connections and opportunities for practices to increase internal visibility.

Collects matter data for inclusion in the firm's experience management system, including experience lists, case studies, and client lists.

Handles CRM related functions - develop and maintain marketing lists, and business development activities, research, reports, etc.

Assists with firm wide initiatives such as Alumni, Diversity & Inclusion, and Pro Bono, etc.

Utilizes firm resources to complete administrative tasks.

Assists with special projects as assigned, Skills & Competencies:

Excellent organizational, interpersonal relations, written and oral communication skills required.

Highly motivated, creative and collaborative.

Able to think broadly and demonstrate a high level of initiative.

Strong client service attitude required.

Needs to work well under pressure and be an excellent problem-solver and team player with strong collaboration skills

Must have the ability to organize and prioritize and meet deadlines.

Strong attention to detail is necessary.

Strong project management skills. Qualifications & Required Experience:

Minimum 5 to 7 years' experience in a marketing/business development function within professional services required; law firm experience preferred.

Bachelor's degree in marketing required Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in the following software:

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, CRM Systems, Smartsheet and Adobe InDesign.

Pay Details: $65,000.00 to $78,000.00 per year
