We currently have opportunities for inpatient and outpatient clinical pharmacy specialists within the only cancer center in North Central Florida to receive a prestigious designation from the National Cancer Institute.

In each full-time role, you’ll work collaboratively with provider teams to provide high-quality, evidence-based care in our oncology department. You’ll also have the opportunity to work with an extraordinary pharmacy team and gain in-depth experience working with an interdisciplinary critical care team. Note: For inpatient roles, you’ll provide pharmacy services for those receiving treatment for solid tumors.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Provision of clinical pharmacy services for the respective patient population.

Medication order verification for designated patients.

Interdisciplinary collaboration to optimize drug therapy and prevent adverse medication events.

Adverse event and medication error reporting, when necessary.

Pharmacokinetic monitoring and consultation.

Supplying drug information and education to medical and nursing staff.

Educating and mentoring pharmacy students and pharmacy residents.

Active participation in related research activities.

Opportunities to serve on committees at the unit, department and institutional levels to improve safety and quality of care.

Successful candidates should be Florida-registered (or eligible) pharmacists who have graduated from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a PharmD and completion of a PGY2 critical care residency or equivalent. Applicants who are board-certified are preferred. We are seeking candidates with strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to integrate clinical services and educational activities. Applicants should show knowledge and understanding of general hospital and outpatient clinic operations, including interacting with medical, nursing and pharmacy staff; pharmacy residents; and medical students.
