Real Estate & Strategy Manager- Planning & Business Development

Oversees the management, leadership, coordination, and development of real estate portfolios and off-site construction projects. Executes and communicates complex business and financial analyses, effectively identifies sites, prioritizes use of internal spaces, leads construction projects, conducts strategic assessments, manages property management vendors, and recommends strategic actions.

Responsibilities

• Leads, develops, and manages real estate portfolios with multi-disciplinary clinical and administrative stakeholders. Continuously analyzes development opportunities including, supporting needs, and maximizing investments.• Maintains and manages relationship and fiscal responsibility with property management companies for leased facilities in all markets. Manages assigned facility operating cost centers.• Coordinates multiple internal customers to collect, review, and determine applicable space requirements and maintains effective working relationships to sustain organization-wide facility development.• Plans and administers effective management and delivery of tenant finishes and new building developments, including site selection, space program development and planning, schematic design, and construction management.• Performs research and develops analyses of services by hospital and competitors, creating service line and competitor market assessments, including programmatic and facility business plans.• Hires, orients, oversees training and development, schedules, assigns work to, evaluates, disciplines, and discharges direct and indirect subordinates.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Education Requirement: Master’s degree in Hospital/Health Administration, Business Administration, or other related field required.

Licensure Requirement Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance as required by hospital policy. Must pass motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications, and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.

Skills:• Analytical skills to assemble, evaluate and understand large and complex information and studies, and to identify current and future trends.• Excellent communication, strategy, and organization skills to effectively interact with staff.• Excellent skills in computer data management systems, ability to read and understand construction documents such as prints and specifications.• Ability to read and understand legal contracts including extensive spreadsheet and presentation graphics knowledge, required.• Physical ability to tolerate a high percentage of time in sedentary work at a desk.Experience:• Five years of academic and/or professional experience in systems planning, health care business development, and physician relations required.• Health care experience, preferred.• Five years in contract negotiations, real estate development, management, and leasing, or facility project management experience, required.The above list of duties is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by individuals assigned to this classification.
