About the Role
KOHO is growing, and we're on the hunt for a Director of Credit Risk. As a key player reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, you'll spearhead the conception, implementation, and continuous oversight of our credit program. While focusing primarily on Credit Risk Management, any background in Fraud Management would be a plus. This role provides exposure to various risk management facets and a chance to leave a lasting mark on our organization.
What You'll Do
Develop strategies and controls to manage areas of credit risk
Design and launch consumer credit lending programs
Lead build vs buy decisions, identifying external partners where appropriate
Conduct and lead analysis to determine target loss rates, and execute on strategies to hit those targets
Work with credit bureaus and other alternative information sources to incorporate essential data into credit decisions
Lead the development of credit adjudication and limit assignment models
Represent the credit risk function on company projects, proactively identifying areas of risk and working with stakeholders to develop solutions
Ensure adherence to policies and processes related to retail lending
Continually improve on tracking and monitoring of credit data at a portfolio level
Develop and improve on collections programs
Who You Are
Proven experience in Credit Risk management within a financial institution
Experience with the use of alternative data approaches to predict risk
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
An ability to see the big picture while being comfortable with day-to-day responsibilities
Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
The ability to manage and track multiple priorities
Advanced Excel skills
Proficiency in SQL is nice to have
Predictive Modeling experience would be an asset in the role
People management experience is nice to have
Experience navigating regulatory frameworks around lending
Exposure to fraud management, particularly new account/identity fraud, will be considered an asset

Compensation at KOHO is determined through various factors including but not limited to: comparable salary market data within Canada, technical skill assessment, a holistic view of previous work history, and internal pay equity with other KOHO team members.
Target Base Salary Range
$165,000—$245,000 CAD
