We are currently recruiting an Electrical Design Lead for our location in Mumbai, India

In this role, you will

This position is responsible for overseeing and managing the design and detail engineering activities of industrial electrical equipment and products, including development of electrical drawings, sizing of electrical components, preparation of bill of materials, and technical supports for other departments. Candidate is required to have minimum 10 years of relevant industrial working experience. Working knowledge with UL, CSA and CE standard, hazardous location classification and requirement is required. PLC programming knowledge and/or experience is preferred.

The Successful Candidate Will

Review technical specifications, preparation, review, and approval of drawings, bills of materials, and other engineering documentations.

Responsible for developing the Project Design Criteria (if applicable)

Issue technical documents and drawing packages for the manufacture of products.

Provide engineering and technical support to Sales, Production, Purchasing, and Quality departments.

Maintain computer data, files, and document records.

Respond to any inquiries in a time sensitive manner to ensure the maintenance of delivery deadlines.

Follow all company procedures.

Responsible for communicating project requirements to the team members, along with expectations on quality, schedule or other restrictions of technical nature.

Responsible to ensure that all team members follow the Quality Plan and take corrective actions where deficiencies occur.

Responsible to lead all technical aspects of the project, including but not limited to project set-up, choice of technical tools to be used in the project, identifying the roles of the team members, appropriately allocating work within the team.

Responsible for identifying and evaluating scope creep in the project and communicating it to the Project Manager

Responsible for communicating with the Project Manager the evolving requirements on the schedule, staffing and budget deviations upon discovery

Responsible for maintaining the Project Design folder structure

Provides input in the development of Global and Regional tools and procedures as required.

Ensure a safe workplace, including compliance with established safety laws, regulations, codes, policies, and procedures.

We Are Looking For Candidates Who

Extensive experience with AutoCAD Electrical.

Working knowledge with PLC programming is preferred.

Familiar with the following codes and standards is preferred:

Canadian Electrical Code, CSA 22.1, CSA 22.2 No.14, 25, 30

NFPA 70, 496

UL 508, 508A, 698, 698A

Applicable IEC standards for both unclassified area and hazardous area (IEC 60079-0 & 60079-1)

ATEX, Low Voltage, EMC directives
