Data Engineer

As a Snowflake Data Engineer, you'll lead the design and development of database solutions leveraging cloud tools and technologies. This includes modeling and prototyping database designs, ownership of database scripts, legacy data analysis and ETL/ELT solutions. You will also work closely with the Principal, Cloud and Platform Architects, as well as the Technical Delivery Lead. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing stored procedures within the Snowflake cloud data platform. Your expertise will contribute to the efficiency and performance of our data processing and analysis workflows.

The Expertise You Bring

Bachelorâs or masterâs degree in a technology related field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) required

5+ years of experience in designing and developing data warehouse and data lake ETL/ELT pipelines

3+ years of experience with Cloud technologies (AZURE / Snowflake)

3+ years of experience with data transformation tools and services. (Informatica, AWS Glue, Talend, Matillion, Stitch, DBT, etc.)

3+ years of SQL scripting experience and excellent understanding of SQL joins, ranks, nested queries, complex CDC logic etc.

2+ years of Unix experience

Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipeline technologies (GitHub, etc.)

Understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum and Kanban)

The Skills You Bring

Experience writing technical design documents, and documenting implementation plans

Advanced SQL knowledge

Ability to perform data analysis on legacy systems such as: Teradata, SQL Server, MongoDB, Oracle etc.

Pulling data into and using Snowflake and creating dashboards using SQL, customer providing devops person. Pipeline setup is Snowflake. Setting up dags, python and SQL. Cloud base datalake setup is Snowflake.

Expertise in data modeling concepts such as dimensional modeling, Data Vault modeling, Normalized/Denormalized architectures etc.

Strong Interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation & communication.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially within the IT community.

Excellent planning and organizational skills.
