Project Engineers are needed at GMHILL to support our Construction team

We have recent Prime experience in facility assessments and building inspections; developing and reviewing D/B RFP’s; planning; architecture; engineering; construction management; general construction; design-build for federal defense and civilian agencies; state and local governments. Current project loads throughout the GMHILL area of operations demand the expansion of field staff at all levels. We are looking for Project Engineers who seek to join our collaborative team of professionals.

Position SummaryThe Project Engineer supports both the Superintendent and Project Manager. Helps monitor assigned projects and prepares field-related reports including submittals, RFI’s and PCO’s. Organizes and supports planning of activities such as field and OAC meetings, material deliveries and supports Superintendent in site planning and logistics. Participates in RFP response and estimating through scoping, estimating, procuring, and submittal preparation and tracking. Participates in the field reporting requirements as assigned, including daily reports, safety audits and project financials. As part of the field team, accountable to support overall project safety. Key Tasks

Following is a list of tasks falling into the areas of responsibility of the Project Engineer. It attempts to present a comprehensive, but not complete, listing of potential assignments that may be undertaken.

Assist Superintendent with daily reports and other field assignments

Assist the Project Manager in writing scopes of work and performing job walks

Prepare bid documents for subcontractors

Assemble subcontractor quotes for review

Gather subcontractor safety information

Perform detailed line-item takeoffs and pricing in Civil/Architectural, Mechanical and Electrical

Assist project team in creating, monitoring and updating project schedules

Assist the PM with project buyout, procurement of subcontractors, materials and equipment

Assist in tracking progress payments and invoicing from subcontractors

Collect, assemble and submit project closeout documentation

Education and Training Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or other related discipline required

• Excellent computer skills in O365 Suite

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software applications, Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam, MS Project, and AutoCAD Viewer. Experience within Procore and certifications within P6 considered a plus

OSHA 10, OSHA 30, USACE EM385-1.1, ARC First Responder and USACE CQM a plus

Skill and Competency Requirements:

• Self-starter, highly motivated, enthusiastic, able to provide project engineering rigor while operating within contractual scope, budget, and schedule requirements for project deliverables on multiple concurrent projects

• Able to personally provide high level of interactive service to project staff, client, and stakeholders

• Able to effectively and persuasively express verbally and in writing, using correct language and grammar in a professional, diplomatic, and tactful manner

• Organization and Time Management skill adequate to work independently with minimal supervision, planning, scheduling, and organizing professional schedule to complete actions within established deadlines, handling multiple priorities with strong attention to detail

Must be physically fit to walk, climb ladders, and other demands needed for inspections of projects and assessing areas of construction.

• Ability and willingness to travel throughout the operational regions.

• Ability to initiate research to undertake assigned responsibilities with little direct oversight

• Ability to work with multiple discipline projects

• General knowledge of applicable codes, policies, standards, and best practices

• Excellent budgeting and cost containment skill

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
