$19.00-$36.00/hour (based on experience)

Responsibilities

Pipe Installation:Install and maintain various types of piping systems, including water, gas, steam, A/C and refrigeration.

Blueprint Interpretation:Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and requirements of piping systems.

Pipe Cutting and Joining:Cut, fit, thread, press and joinpipes using a variety of tools and equipment to meet project specifications.

Pipefitting Techniques:Apply pipefitting techniques such asbrazing, soldering, pressing & threading tofabricate pipe systems.

Pipe Material Selection:Select appropriate pipe materials, such as copper, black iron, PVC, pexand other materials, based on project requirements.

Pipe Insulation:Install insulation materials to protect pipes from extreme temperatures and maintain energy efficiency.(Sub contracted insulation on 99% of jobs)

Testing and Inspections:Conduct pressure tests and inspections to ensure the integrity and safety of piping systems.

Repairs and Maintenance:Perform repairs and maintenance on existing piping systems, identifying and addressing issues promptly.

Alignment and Positioning:Align and position pipes to ensure proper connections and support structures.

Safety Compliance:Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, promoting a safe work environment at all times.

Collaboration:Work closely with other construction professionals, including plumbers, welders, and engineers, to coordinate projects effectively.

Tools and Equipment:Operate and maintain various tools and equipment, such as pipe cutters andthreading machines

Documentation:Maintain accurate records and documentation of work performed, materials used, and any changes to plans.

Quality Assurance:Ensure that pipe installations meet quality standards and project specifications.

Continuous Learning:Stay updated on industry trends, new materials, and techniques in pipefitting through training and professional development.

Cleanliness and Organization:Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency on the job site.

Customer Interaction:Interact with clients and provide information on pipefitting projects, addressing their concerns and questions.

Job requirements

EPA Certification

State of Maine Gas license orwillingness to obtain

3-5 years of relevant professional experience

Possess OSHA 10 certification, demonstrating knowledge of safety regulations

Understanding of mechanical concepts and principles

Reliability is thekey

Possession of a clean driver's license and reliable transportation

Comfort and proficiency in using various hand tools commonly employed in piping work

Ability to work comfortably and safely on ladders and staging when necessary

Possess general safety knowledge and awareness in a workplace setting

Demonstrate reliability and a strong work ethic

Be eligible and authorized to work in the United States
