Bridge Structural Engineer

Job Description

Our Structural Group is growing, and we are looking for a Bridge Structural Engineer to join us in our Woodridge, IL office. We have some exciting projects in the pipeline with more on the horizon! At V3, you will be mentored by experienced Structural Engineers and will expand your knowledge of the design of a variety of structures, ranging from typical crossings to more complex bridges. Qualified candidates should be highly motivated, good communicators, problem-solvers, and have strong organizational skills.

General responsibilities include:

Prepare engineering drawings, including 3D bridge modeling.

Perform structural analysis and design calculations.

Perform bridge inspection and load ratings.

Perform quantity and cost estimate calculations.

Prepare construction specifications.

Work closely with other V3 disciplines on multi-faceted projects.

Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from ABET Accredited university. Master’s degree with a structural focus is preferred.

0-4 years of bridge design, analysis, load rating, inspection experience.

Experience in projects for clients such as IDOT, Illinois Tollway, Chicago DOT, County DOT’s and local municipalities is a plus.

Familiarity with AASHTO, AREMA, IDOT and ISTHA design standards is a plus.

Proficient in MicroStation. Familiarity with OpenBridge Modeler a plus.

Knowledge of design software (OpenBridge Designer, MDX, LPile, STAAD) is a plus.

EIT license. PE license is a plus.
