Banyan Global is seeking a Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Manager for an upcoming USAID/Pakistan project focused on women-led businesses, access to capital, and entrepreneurship. The GESI Manager must be Pakistani and will be based in Islamabad.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and managerial leadership on GESI for the project.• Serve as the primary point of contact for GESI within the activity and with other relevant stakeholders.• Proactively identify resources required for GESI implementation, including consultants and subcontractors, and develop scopes of work for the same.• Directly supervise consultants and provide technical oversight over their work.• Provide technical input on issues related to access to capital and entrepreneurship within the project’s scope.• Review and provide input to project work plans, with attention to GESI dimensions of technical activities and operations, and discuss gender issues and priorities with project senior management and other technical specialists.• Conduct GESI analyses and research on gender norms and constraints in project locations.• Provide strategic technical guidance on GESI integration to key personnel, project staff, government ministries, and project partners and stakeholders.• Engage women’s and youth networks and organizations in the planning and implementation of project activities. Provide associated capacity building, as needed.• Provide technical support in areas such as conducting gender analyses, assessments, and surveys; designing, developing, and leading GESI trainings; and managing and implementing GESI research.• Develop appropriate GESI resources and tools for project staff. • Ensure the quality and timeliness of all deliverables and work products for the project.• Adhere to all relevant Pakistani laws, U.S. Government and Banyan Global rules and regulations, including those related to procurement, labor, and employment.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 8-10 years of relevant professional experience, including experience working on women’s entrepreneurship in Pakistan from a GESI lens.• Experience with integrating “Do no harm” as a key consideration for all project activities.• Experience providing GESI-focused technical assistance on economic growth programs.• Experience integrating GESI into project design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation activities.• Experience managing diverse teams, budgets, and multiple, simultaneous activities.• Proven track record of establishing and maintaining productive relationships.• Demonstrated familiarity with global GESI best practices, including GESI tools, trainings, policies, and guidelines.• Experience designing and facilitating trainings on GESI issues; leading GESI integration processes; and conducting gender analyses.• Master’s degree in international development, gender, or another related field.• Full fluency in English and Urdu.• Strong communications skills, and effective report-writing skills in English.
