Adventist HealthCare Rehabilitation seeks to hire a Certified Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

As a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) you will:

•Work under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist and assist them to provide rehabilitative services to patients suffering from physical, mental, development problems - either congenital or accidental, post-surgery, etc.

•Assist in providing rehabilitation services for the patients to aid in the recovery, improvement, and maintain the skills needed for day-to-day activities.

•Monitor the patients and understand their health issues and requirements and make sure that they are provided the necessary support.

•Help patients in working through the rehabilitative exercises and treatments as suggested by the occupational therapists, as well as aiding in feeding, dressing, or changing beddings and help maintain hygiene.

•Maintain and order equipment’s used in the process of treatment and give regular progress reports to the doctors. Document the progress report of the patients and make necessary changes in the treatment process as suggested by the doctor.

Qualified Candidates will possess:

•High School Diploma or GED required

•Associate’s degree from accredited COTA program required

•Site specific experience preferred (minimum of 1 site specific clinical affiliation required)

•Licensed COTA in the State of Maryland

•Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

As an Occupational Therapist (OT) you will:

•Communicate with team members, customers, managers, etc. to coordinate plan of care and provide optimal patient experience.

•Administer occupational therapy interventions and treatments according to agency’s accepted policies and procedures.

•Apply and implement appropriate therapy knowledge and plans patient care with appropriate patient goals.

•Complete documentation requirements in a proficient and timely manner.

•Assume responsibility for personal and professional development.

•Administer and supervises occupational therapy treatments to patients with a wide range of health problems under the direct orders of a physician/podiatrist.

•Coordinate care patients with other skilled care providers to plan, implement and access treatment programs.

OT Qualifications Include:

• Master’s degree or higher from an accredited occupational therapy program

• 2-3 years’ experience preferred

• Maryland Occupational Therapy Licensure

• American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification

Work Schedule:

Full Time, Monday- Friday, to include two evenings
