Contract Programmer

Job Description

The Los Angeles Housing Department (LAHD) anticipates hiring contract personnel to provide programming support for the web-based Departmental systems. Work is expected to last for a period of approximately 12 months. This position demands a highly organized, analytical, independent, self-starter individual with strong background in business application development, ability to multi-task, and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Scope of Work:

Design and develop web applications to help manage diverse Housing programs

Integrate out-of-the-box applications with our in-house software systems

Maintain and provide production support for Housing systems

Perform in-depth business and data analysis

Design and develop canned/ad-hoc reports

Set up, configure, and deploy web applications

Write user guides and technical design documents

Gather users' requirements and provide application mock-ups

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Programming: ASP.NET, MVC, C#, Web API

Data Structure: XML, JSON

Development Tools: Visual Studio

Database: T-SQL, SQL Server, SSRS

Version Control: Team Foundation Server/GIT

Mobile application development

E-Commerce and payment portal experience

Basic accounting knowledge
