Who We Are

District of Columbia International School (DCI) is a public charter school serving over 1600 racially and economically diverse students in grades 6-12 from across the District of Columbia. We aim to provide our students with a world-class education that empowers them to follow their passions and change the world. DCI's education centers on an International Baccalaureate curriculum, advanced language learning in Chinese, Spanish, and French, and a culture focused on student agency supported by 1:1 technology.

Position Overview: The Receptionist provides a first impression of the school to students, families and the community by responding to phone calls and general information requests.

Salary Range: $35,000 - $42,000 (Starting salary is determined by education and years of relevant experience)

Qualifications: Applicants with an associate's Degree or higher strongly preferred. Bilingual in Spanish and English. Strong reading and writing skills in both languages. Ability to lift and carry orders and deliveries short distances. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Experience in a school environment is preferred. Comfortable in a Mac environment. Able to draft and create documents and spreadsheets. Experience in Accounts Receivables and Billing.

Essential Attributes:

Answer telephones, and respond to emails.

Assist with lunch and meal duties as assigned.

Interact with parents and students in a professional and inviting manner.

Be proactive about helping the school succeed in daily operations.

Assist students and staff as necessary.

Report Attendance.

Input data.

Embrace French, Spanish, and Chinese cultures by leading and participating in cultural activities for faculty and students.

Commitment to environmentally sustainable business practices.

Assist with ACE after school duties as assigned.
