Forklift Operator I

Division: Operations

Reports To: Operations Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

The Forklift Operator is responsible for accurately storing, shipping, and receiving a product to meet company standards on safety, security, and productivity.

Responsibilities:

Your job:

Moves product to correct storage location and ensuring the product is appropriately stacked.

Makes certain inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Reports quality variances.

Completes first count of pick and ensures the second count is done (by the stager if applicable)

Completes all necessary paperwork.

Is responsible for accurate put-a-way and picking and is required to count after pick when necessary.

Will be expected to complete cycle counts either physically or through the RF gun on a regular basis.

Ensures proper stock rotation.

Operates any material handling machines as required, including turrets, forklifts, balers, blenders, and packaging machines in a safe manner.

Maintains the turret and work area in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion. Cleans up any spills caused by the machine (i.e. hydraulic fluid, oils).

Inspects and performs minor maintenance on the turret daily. Completes reports and records accurately and gives to supervisor for record keeping.

Reports any maintenance issues immediately to supervisor so a work order can be done.

Ensures that tight control and security are maintained. Assists in physical inventories.

Performs labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and light assembly.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.

Qualifications:

You need the following to get in the door:

Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Must have minimum of one-year experience.

Must be able to read, count accurately, do simple math and write legibly.

Must be able to complete internal certification program.

Must be capable of sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time.

Must be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis.

Must be able to use proper technique to lift 50 pounds.

Slackers need not apply.
