Cloud Data Engineer

Job Description

Our great client is actively seeking a highly motivated Cloud Data Engineer to join our team! Working with a team you will provide services and support to the mission, to include design, planning, and execution of data exploitation workflows into the Intelligence Community's (IC) Commercial Cloud Services (C2S).

Clearance Required: TS/SCI w/ CI Poly

Location: Reston, VA (on-site)

The Cloud Data Engineer must understand the capabilities of relational databases, NoSQL databases, and cloud storage solutions. The ideal candidate will be well versed in cloud strategies for data warehouse implementation, data acquisition, data tagging, and archival. This position will work closely with the Cloud System Administrator and the Database Engineer to use emerging and best practices in cloud data storage to streamline data accessibility in a multi-cloud environment.

Qualifications:

Bachelors + 4 years' experience or in lieu of Bachelor's total of 9 years of experience

Required Certification: DoD 8140.01 IAT Certification Level II or higher (i.e. CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP) or willing to obtain within 90 days of hire

Required Certification: AWS Certified Solutions Architect- Associate or industry equivalent

Desired Certification: AWS Certified Big Data- Specialty or industry equivalent

Experience with designing, deploying, maintaining, and optimizing relational databases solutions with PostgreSQL, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server; experience with designing, deploying, maintaining, and optimizing NoSQL solutions with MongoDB; experience with designing, deploying, maintaining, and optimizing cloud data storage solutions.

Competence with AWS infrastructure-as-code solutions (Cloud Formation and/or Cloud Development Kit)

Development skills desired (Python, Bash)

Experience with both Linux and Windows operating systems
