Construction Project Manager

SCI is looking to add another Project Manager to our Construction Operations Team! We are looking for a detail-oriented, self-starter with leadership experience to oversee industrial construction projects. As a Project Manager, you will work with clients to better understand their needs, then plan and monitor construction projects while overseeing the entire building processes from start to finish. You will manage multiple projects at a time, with a full-time Supervisor on each site, reporting daily to you. This position is based in our Logansport office with routine site visits to active projects. Project Managers work within our Operation’s Department and report to the Chief Operations Officer.
General Project management Duties:
Understand responsibilities of Project Managers and Field Supervisors
Obtain required safety documents for each project site
Write subcontracts and assist with subcontractor management
Maintain Sub Contracts / Purchase Orders / Change Orders
Buy out of materials and rental equipment
Complete SCI Cost Spreadsheets
Build and maintain project schedule
Maintain change orders to clients
Routinely visit job sites
Provide support to Supervisors and clients
General oversight of quality and safety
Departmental Duties
Attends project handoff and post job meetings
Lead onsite job Progress Meetings
Attend weekly Operations Meetings
Other duties as assigned
Education, Qualifications and Experience
Must have valid driver’s license
Industrial and/or commercial construction experience
Misc. Skills/ Soft Skills / Intangibles Needed:
Ability to oversee and manage project finances
Computer skills – proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, etc. and a willingness to learn software as required
Strong communication skills; verbally, written and via drawings / illustrations
Strong work ethic
Familiar with Sage Estimating, cost codes and category divisions
Ability to read, understand and review job cost and labor reports
Ability to review and understand job bar chart schedules
Understand purchase order and subcontractor process
Understand material data submittal process
Understand time recording software
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliation
Highly detail-oriented
Customer service attitude
