BGF Industries is looking for a Weaving Service Operator to join our team on SECOND SHIFT!

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Responsible for cleaning the Weave Room and Warehouse areas. Clean and brush looms, clean floors (sweep and mop), clean the walls and ceilings, empty selvage cans from looms, and use fork truck as needed. Doff cloth at specified length from loom and load creels as needed. Operate back winders for fabric orders and tracer yarn.

MACHINES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT USED:

Broom, buckets, brushes, vacuum cleaner, safety goggles, gloves, fork truck, hammer, mandrels, face mask, floor scrubber, looms, flashlight, pen, ruler, doff truck, winders, LDMS, etc.

MATERIALS USED:

Cleaner, water, yarn, cloth, tape, chalk, etc.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Plant Manager, Supervisor, Technical Coordinator & Process Engineer.

DIRECTION EXERCISED:

None

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.

Clean all looms according to documented procedures.

2.

Clean and inspect creels according to documented procedures.

3.

Clean ceiling, overhead fixtures, according to shift assignment.

4.

Operate automatic floor scrubber when directed by Supervisor.

5.

Assist in repacking filling tubes and keeping area orderly and clean.

6.

Observe all safety precautions in performance of job duties.

7.

Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Plant Manager, Technical Coordinator or Process Engineer.

8.

Splices or threads supply packages to loom.

9.

Inspects creel & backwinds yarn when needed.

10.

Perform doff at specified length.

11.

Load creel (s) as needed.

12.

Collects empty yarn tubes and transports to staging area as needed and bales as needed.

13.

Responsible for general housekeeping as needed.

14.

Bale waste, carbon material or cardboard.

Mandatory Qualifications:

High School Diploma as defined by company policy or GED.

Physical Requirements:

Standing- May be up to 8 hours/shift on concrete floor.

Sitting-

Moving- Walking throughout assigned work area. Required to move between machine as close as 18” apart.

Climbing- As required to thread creels, leno, etc.

Lifting- Transporting supply yarn to creel running position. Yarn weights vary from 10 oz. - 20 lbs. Frequency varies according to yarn style and package weight. may be up to 150 times per 8-hour shift.

Pushing/Pulling- Pushing/pulling occurs primarily on loom stops - associated with loom control arms. Frequency is random and fluctuates with running conditions, but may be 200 times per 8-hour shift depending on job assignment.

Reaching- Must be able to reach through 3 body zones and straight out from body. As required to retrieve supply yarn, to repair warp, leno, and selvage ends.

Visual Acuity- Must have 20/40 corrected distance and 20/30 corrected near vision

Bending/Stooping- As required to secure waste selvage, filling, and perform required quality inspections, and to properly start certain looms. Frequency may be as high as 200 times per 8-hour shift.

Hearing & Speaking- As needed to communicate
