Job Description

The DART Manager leads and manages operations of the DART program, supervises staff and volunteers. The manager assists the team with providing immediate crisis and safety counseling to victims of Domestic Violence when contacted by Montgomery County police departments and hospitals. The position works with police departments, medical personnel, and other community partners to ensure that domestic violence victims/survivors have access to coordinated community response. As the Manager of the DART team, the incumbent will:

Plan, manage and improve outreach to and collaboration with police departments, DA's offices, county Detectives, key officials and other collaborative agencies;

Ensure provision of immediate crisis and safety counseling, court accompaniment, case management, Victim Impact or Victim Compensation assistance to victims of DV when contacted by Montgomery County police departments, hospitals and other collaborative agencies.

Provide domestic violence training to law enforcement and other criminal justice service professionals throughout Montgomery County;

Supervise, coach, and develop a staff of 4-5 Advocates and volunteers, including regular employee and intern supervision meetings; onboarding and career development planning and opportunities;

Maintain accurate records of employee supervision and provide effective performance feedback including quarterly and annual evaluations;

Partner with Human Resources to recruit, interview, select and hire staff;

Assist with Supervisor On-Call coverage after hours, weekends and holidays;

Schedule and host DART meetings with staff and volunteers and organize annual outreach activity;

Maintain monthly internal DART newsletter to staff and volunteers;

Manage recruitment, training and retention of DART volunteers;

Assist Director of Community Outreach evaluate program for adherence to Laurel House policies as well as monitoring for efficiency, impact and areas of improvement;

Ensure the DART program is represented at community events e.g. health fairs, informational "tabling" events, National Night Out, and similar events;

Maintain accurate records for fiscal management, grant compliance and outcome assessments;

Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including being supervisor on-call
