Job Title: Systems Engineer

Location: Tacoma, WA

Job Type: 6-Month Contract

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team with one of our local clients. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our company's computer systems, networks, and infrastructure. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, security, and optimal performance of our technology environment.

Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and software systems.

Administer and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.

Monitor system performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to optimize performance and reliability.

Manage Active Directory, including user accounts, group policies, and access controls.

Support and maintain virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.

Perform system backups and disaster recovery operations.

Implement and maintain security measures to protect systems from unauthorized access and cyber threats.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement system improvements.

Provide technical support and assistance to end-users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues.

Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in systems administration.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or Systems Engineer.

Strong knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems.

Experience with virtualization technologies, such as VMware or Hyper-V.

Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs).

Familiarity with Active Directory administration and group policies.

Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions.

Understanding of security best practices and ability to implement security measures.

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, CCNA, VCP) are a plus.

Pay Rate: 50-65/hr

Pay Details: $50.00 to $65.00 per hour
