Description:

TEKsystems has a customer that is looking for an experienced Access Control Technician with at least 3 years of experience. All work will be in a Commercial environment- either new construction or retrofit of an existing building. While this position is an Access Control Tech first and foremost, there is the opportunity to learn a wide range of low voltage work including cameras and more.

Must-Have Skills:

Hands-on knowledge and experience with installing, implementing, and servicing commercial access control systems

Must be able to read blueprints, specifications, and contract documents

Must have ability to install, terminate & test low voltage cables & fiber optical cables (to include twisted pair cable, coax, power limited tray cable, stranded & solid conductor low voltage cable, single-mode & multi-mode fiber optical cables)

Must be a team player with a knack for electronics and problem-solving

Strong mechanical aptitude

Comprehension of terminology pertaining to installation & service of telecom, data, security & wireless systems

Must possess:

A High School Diploma or equivalent. (Vocational/Technical/Business School strongly preferred.)

Ability to follow written & verbal instructions.

Positive attitude, works well with others, and can communicate positively with customers.

Duties Include:

Use of small hand tools. (must have own basic hand tools)

Use of power tools.

Heavy physical effort (usually lifting/moving up to 100 pounds).

Climbing of stairs, ladders, and/or scaffolds.

Must work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Certifications are a huge plus

Programming experience is not necessary but is a plus (will train and certify technicians who demonstrate computer aptitude and desire to learn)

CCTV/Access Control experience is a plus

Equipment/Manufacturer-specific certifications are a big plus.
