Description:

Our client, situated in Chaguanas, Trinidad, is on the lookout for a dynamic Estimator to provide essential support in the energy services, oil and gas, and marine industries, both locally and regionally. Interacts with client representatives on site visits and subsequently prepares scope of work procedures, quotations and material takeoff

Performs preliminary engineering and generates cost estimations for tendering and consolidates proposal documents for bid packages

Advises on purchase or development of special instruments and devices required to accomplish jobs/projects

Recommends budget requests for estimates of labor and material costs for assigned jobs/projects

Works with Operations Team to coordinate and schedule assigned shop projects to meet deadlines and requests, evaluating and assigning priorities to individual projects

Coordinates and leads assigned projects relevant to the water-jet

Consults with Tools Material Stores to ensure that the right materials and equipment are available or ordered to complete jobs/projects

Resolves technical queries by offering advice and support after researching, interpreting and consulting with experts on industry codes, standards and practices

Displays and maintains the highest level of confidentiality and adheres to Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental policies

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field

Proven experience as an Estimator or similar role in an engineering or construction environment

Strong technical knowledge of engineering principles and practices

Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation

Excellent analytical skills with the ability to calculate costs, measurements, and material takeoffs accurately

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with clients, team members, and suppliers

Project management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously, coordinate with various teams, and meet deadlines.

Problem-solving abilities to resolve technical queries and issues effectively

Attention to detail and thoroughness in reviewing project specifications

Proficiency in relevant software applications, such as estimating and project management tools, AutoCAD, etc.
