Senior Manager/ Counsel Ethics & Compliance – Latin America South, São Paulo

Your role at Baxter

We are looking for a Senior Manager/ Counsel, who will be the Ethics & Compliance business partner for internal collaborators in Latin America South, São Paulo. In this role, you will be the SME for Ethics and Compliance. You will be owning the implementation and day-to-day management of the Ethics & Compliance program in Latin America South so that Baxter employees can achieve their business goals consistent with Baxter’s values and standards and applicable compliance requirements.

What you’ll be doing

Provide Ethics & Compliance counseling to internal business customers on a wide range of healthcare compliance and anti-corruption matters.

Support the implementation of the Ethics & Compliance Governance for Latin America South.

Provide clear mentorship regarding Ethics & Compliance policies and procedures and detect conduct inconsistent with the Company’s policies and applicable regulations.

Drive awareness regarding the importance of Ethics & Compliance, identify areas of Ethics & Compliance risk, and undertake corrective plans to resolve the potential issues.

Develop, deliver, and supervise training related to the Company’s Ethics & Compliance policies and applicable regulations.

Assist in the implementation and oversight of Baxter’s Third-Party Program in Latin America South.

Support the implementation of Middle management initiatives.

Perform special assignments or projects, as needed.

Participate in internal investigations regarding potential violations of Company’s policies or applicable regulations.

What you’ll bring

Master’s degree from a nationally or internationally recognized institution.

5+ years of experience in private practice and/or international company in the area of Ethics and compliance. The ideal candidate will have experience gained from a mix of private practice and in-house positions in companies engaged in the life-sciences sector.

Healthcare experience required. Medical Device and international experience strongly preferred.

Expert knowledge of regional legal and regulatory frameworks, including anti-corruption and anti-competition laws and regulations, affecting the healthcare industry.

Unquestioned integrity and ethics in business and personal conduct.

Excellent oral communication and inter-personal skills to inspire and influence employees at every level to embrace Baxter’s Ethics and Compliance initiatives.

Proactive in ‘reaching-out’ to people in providing advice as well as ‘open-communication’ style towards others.

Strong ability to work with and coordinate activities across a large number of individuals across various functional areas and effectively communicate the impact of law and regulation on business operations in a solutions-oriented manner.

Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and to meet deadlines.

Healthcare experience required. Medical Device and international experience strongly preferred.

Fluency in English and Portuguese. Ability to work in Spanish will be considered as a plus.
