A Banquet Waiter/ess is responsible for serving guests in a friendly, timely, and efficient manner to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience while having extensive knowledge of menu offerings.
What will I be doing?
As a Banquet Waiter/ess, you are responsible for serving guests in a friendly, timely, and efficient manner to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience. A Banquet Waiter/ess will also be required to have extensive knowledge of menu offerings. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
Manage guest queries in a friendly, timely, and efficient manner
Ensure knowledge of menu and all products
Ensure mis-en-place is well stocked at all stations
Follow correct reporting procedures if faced with issues
Ensure Food and Beverage orders are of a consistently good standard and delivered in a timely manor
Practice Hilton Grooming standards including uniform dress code, cleanliness and personal hygiene
Set banquet tables to meet function specifications
Deliver and serve food and beverages, including, but not limited to, meals, condiments and accompaniments
Remove china, glassware, silverware, etc. from tables at the conclusion of the meal period and deliver to the stewarding area
Ensure guest satisfaction throughout the meal service
Respond to guest requests in a friendly, timely, and efficient manner
Prepare and replenish foods for hot and cold buffets to include, but not limited to, fruit, juices, cereals, bread, hot food, etc.
Replenish ice and maintain time and temperature sanitation standards
Transport food items to and from the kitchen
Check, maintain and control inventory of food items/beverages
Restock with inventory and break down the buffet to clean, replace and set for next day
Perform general cleaning to maintain cleanliness of work area
Put away food stock and dry goods according to established standards
Assist fellow team members and other departments wherever necessary to maintain positive working relationships
Assist others with side work including, but not limited to cleaning, stocking, folding silverware, etc.
Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation
