Job Title: Senior Project Manager - IAD

Employment Type: Full Time

FLSA Status: Exempt

Salary: $140,000 to $160,000 Annually

Location: Northern Virginia

Position Description Summary:

The Senior Project Manager has demonstrated construction experience to support a variety of projects at Washington Dulles International Airport. The incumbent should be self-motivated, a critical thinker and have the capacity to work within a fast-paced environment. Successful incumbents will be capable of working individually and in team environments. Strong oral communication skills, including the capability to understand and follow oral and written communication, also required.

The Senior Project Manager has primary responsibility for and leads overall project performance including, costs, schedule, quality, and project status. This position involves liaison with company Clients, design teams, general contractors, airport management and staff, and key stakeholders. Additionally, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for the management of the technical and financial aspects of assignments. Requirements:

Responsibilities:

The Senior Project Manager reports to the Vice President – Program & Construction Management and will share and support the following responsibilities:

Professionally represent Jacobsen Daniels to clients and key stakeholders

Provide senior-level program/project leadership to support corporate and client initiatives

Develop program and project strategic plans and execute those plans to achieve goals and metrics

Lead, oversee, and manage a variety of facility projects

Establish program/project goals and objectives

Proficient in reviewing construction drawings and specifications

Develop and maintain excellent relationships with the owner, architect, consultants, subcontractors, and other key stakeholders

Liaise with governing authorities and regulatory agencies

Establish and maintain project reporting procedures

Develop and monitor the project schedule and budget

Understand and enforce contractual responsibilities, contract documents and provide dispute resolution

Support the review of change orders, including processing and assessing cost and schedule impacts, and providing recommendations for approval/disapproval

Prepare/verify and monitor progress billings to the owner and from contracted service providers

Review productivity planning and monitoring

Provide performance status reports regarding project progress, cost forecasts, schedule, and safety

Engage in all facets of project close-out?

Travel may be required

Ensure project profitability

Other duties as assigned by the Vice President – Program & Construction Management

Qualifications:

Must possess demonstrated leadership ability in managing staff and project efforts, and embody a progressive and innovative attitude toward construction technologies, and a thorough understanding of all project systems.?

Strong abilities to facilitate productive meetings between stakeholders are highly desirable.

Additional preferred qualities and skills include superior organizational ability and strong process orientation, the ability to train and mentor others, and effective people skills;

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, SharePoint, AutoCAD, Primavera P6, Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam, etc.

Employment with Jacobsen Daniels is contingent upon passing a substance abuse test and the ability to pass a TSA and Homeland Security background check for an airport SIDA badge.

Education and Experience:

A Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent. A minimum of ten (10) years of proven experience as a Project Manager on commercial construction projects valued at $20 million and over with extensive experience in core and shell scope; 5 or more years of progressive project responsibility desired.

Licensing/Certifications:

Valid Driver’s License

Ability to obtain Airport Security Badging Credentials

Must possess a basic knowledge of reading and interpreting construction documents (construction contract documents, construction plans, and specifications). Must be able to understand and interpret construction and master schedules. Must also have an aptitude for construction estimating (conceptual and detailed estimating tasks).

Must have the self-knowledge, character, and ability to function with minimal supervision.

Software/Office Equipment – proficient in computer software applications utilized to administer terms of the contract through project controls (e.g. MS Project, SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, etc.)

Adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands, and can deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.

Planning/organizing – prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently, and develops realistic action plans

Quality control— demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit for long periods, bend, use hands to manipulate (type), talk and hear; walk; sit, and lift or move no more than ten (20) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Mental Demands:

While performing the duties of this position, employees are regularly required to use written and oral communication skills; read and interpret data, information, and documents; analyze and solve problems, use math, and mathematical reasoning; observe and interpret situations; learn and apply new information or new skills; work under deadlines with occasional interruptions, and interact with staff and other organizations.

Working Conditions:

Primarily working from home, in an office setting, and/or a construction site out of a field office or construction trailer. May be required to travel occasionally as needed to satisfy company and client needs.
