Job Description

As Head - Engineering, you would report to the CEO. Key responsibilities -

Provide strategic direction and leadership to the engineering department, fostering a culture of excellence, safety, and continuous improvement.

Build and lead a high-performing team of engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment

Develop and implement staffing plans, training programs, and performance management processes to ensure the department's success.

Oversee all aspects of aircraft maintenance, including scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs, and modifications, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Develop and implement maintenance programs, policies, and procedures to optimize fleet reliability, availability, and cost-effectiveness.

Ensure timely resolution of technical issues and effective coordination with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and regulatory authorities.

Stay abreast of relevant aviation regulations, airworthiness directives, and manufacturer recommendations, ensuring full compliance in all engineering and maintenance activities.

Liaise with regulatory agencies and participate in audits, inspections, and certifications to maintain the airline's operational approvals and certifications.

Collaborate with other departments, such as flight operations, planning, and procurement, to support fleet planning, acquisitions, retirements, and transitions.

Conduct technical evaluations of aircraft, engines, and components, providing recommendations for fleet optimization and expansion.

Champion a safety-first culture within the engineering department, promoting adherence to safety protocols, procedures, and best practices.

Establish and maintain quality assurance processes to monitor and improve the quality and reliability of maintenance and engineering operations.

Develop and manage the engineering department budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and cost control measures

Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and efficiency enhancements to maximize operational performance and financial sustainability.

The Successful Applicant

Aerospace / Mechanical Engineer with 20+ years of experience, with at least 8 years of leadership experience. You should be well versed with all aspects of aviation engineering - aircraft engineering, safety, maintenance, etc.
