An ideal candidate will be responsible to supervise aspects of the Claims process and contribute towards process improvement initiatives in additional to performing full-fledged responsibilities of Analyst -Claims and Demurrage which is as follows –

Examine the invoicing request from different commercial operators and process the invoicing request with business intent and in the contractual terms along with calculation and negotiation for freight (WS Flat rate/ lump sums), TC hires, miscellaneous (revenue claims & rebills) and demurrage invoice in systems (IMOS) and invoicing to charterers via broker

Display informal leadership skills and effectively contribute towards process improvement ideas & implementation

Validate information from relevant parties i.e., Vessel Broker, Agent, Chartering, Vessel Operation to implement accurate calculation and negotiation in the respective system and create accurate revenue invoices basis contract of fixtures and bill to customers

Review final disbursement account and supporting vouchers received from the port agent (ISS/Optic), identify, and approve the costs in DA which are on charterer's account and bill the same to the Charterers

Review and approve AWRP costs in the system and bill to charterers if there's a supporting charterparty provision

Accurate invoicing and negotiation with the charterers in a time bound manner upon receiving request from commercial operations and chase the outstanding invoices, which have been delayed beyond due date and as per sign off chasing procedures

Perform checks of the supporting statements received from Vessel/ Agents and flag changes to receive correct statements/document and prepare reports pertaining to process related checks and balances

Understand specific requirements from charterers for required amendments in invoices/ negotiation amounts and check the same against contractual obligations (Charterer Party Terms) and flagging the requirements appropriately to chartering/finance/TBT (IMOS business team)

Candidate should come with relevant shore experience and/or experience as a 2nd officer on tanker vessels along with an interest in participating in process improvement initiatives apart from possessing in depth understanding of tanker voyage charter parties, voyage economics for Tanker Trade and below abilities:

Fundamental understanding of oil supply chain, shipping technical terms along with understanding of cargo operations

Exposure to supervising small projects and small teams will be an added advantage

Basic understanding of costs and revenue stream associated with tanker trade and voyage cost negotiation experience along with general understanding of cargo (oil) operation on ship's side
