Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a SWM Expert located in Pune. The SWM Expert will be responsible for day-to-day tasks associated with project management, including managing SWM contracts, coordinating with stakeholders and third-party contractors, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

 Qualifications

MSc in Environmental / MTech in Environmental EngineeringÂ

 Experience in Solid Waste Management (SWM) and Environmental Management

Project Management skills, including contract management and third-party coordination

Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Marathi, English, Hindi)

Analytical and problem-solving skills

Experience with regulatory compliance and permitting processes

Ability to work in a team and collaborate with stakeholders

Key Responsibilities:

Develop comprehensive solid waste management plans that align with local, regional, and national regulations.

Identify and implement innovative solutions for waste reduction, recycling, and resource recovery.

Stay informed about local and national waste management regulations and ensure compliance.

Assist in obtaining necessary permits and approvals for waste management activities.

Conduct waste audits to analyze the composition of solid waste generated in specific areas.

Use data to guide decision-making and implement targeted waste reduction initiatives.

Evaluate and recommend appropriate waste collection, transportation, and disposal infrastructure.

Collaborate with engineers and planners to design and implement effective waste management facilities.

Develop and implement educational programs to raise public awareness about responsible waste management practices.

Engage with communities to promote recycling, composting, and proper waste disposal.

Establish monitoring systems to track the effectiveness of waste management programs.

Analyze data and make adjustments to strategies to improve outcomes and meet goals.

Work closely with government agencies, local authorities, NGOs, and private sector partners to foster collaboration and coordination in waste management efforts.

Stay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in waste management.

Explore and recommend new technologies or methodologies for improved waste processing.

Develop and manage budgets for waste management programs, ensuring cost-effectiveness and resource optimization.

Develop contingency plans for handling waste management during emergency situations or natural disasters.
