English Content Writer (Inc Arabia)

Location: Jordan or Egypt (from the office or remotely).

Inc. Arabia is looking for an English journalist and content writer who can create high-quality news daily, write features, and create engaging social media posts. The candidate should have at least 2-3 years of experience working in a newsroom and should be able to conduct research independently, find sources and conduct interviews, and be familiar with the latest trends in writing for the web.Â

Responsibilities include:Â

- Research and produce in-depth features, covering a variety of business and entrepreneurship topics. This includes writing news, in-depth features, industry and company profiles, and conducting interviews with key opinion leaders in the MENA region.Â

- Editing and uploading content pieces from freelancers, contributors, and industry experts.Â

- Do first-hand interviews and attend industry events when needed to get multimedia content.Â

- Pitch ideas content ideas and topics to focus on.Â

- Work on a weekly newsletter.Â

- Fact-checking news and features to ensure technical terms and information are accurate. Â

- Assist in social media coverage, especially on LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. Â

- Create daily social media posts (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter), podcast scripts, and other communication material as needed.

Skills:Â Â

- Relevant university degree. Â

- Fluent English speaker with excellent English writing skills, with a strong command of written and spoken Arabic.Â

- A strong understanding of the business, entrepreneurship, and startups ecosystem in the MENA region. Â

- Excellent English writing skills. Arabic writing skills are a plus.Â

- Experience using a content management system and being able to produce multimedia content.Â

- Excellent communication skills in both Arabic and English.Â

- A good network of sources and industry experts in the business and entrepreneurship field across MENA. Â

- Able to pitch original story ideas and write and edit articles independently. Â

- Able to meet deadlines and work under pressure.Â

- Well-versed in creating content for the web, social media, emails, and other marketing channels.Â

- Strong research and data mining skills.Â

- Familiar with and adheres to journalism best practices.Â

- Minimum of 3-5 years reporting on business, entrepreneurship, startups, and/or technology.Â
