Lead Designer - Electrical

Receives project requirements and direction through meetings with the Regional or Project Manager and review of the contract documents.

Generates and gathers all required final project documentation.

Provides technical assistance to Customers.

Develop the Electrical scope for the project, provide input to project cost estimates and schedules.

Design complex electrical systems (LV, MV, HV) for electrical package of various equipment; gas turbines, gas turbine driven generators, compressors and electrical motor driven compressors.

Evaluate & understand the design specifications for electrical equipment; Generators, Generator Control Panels, Motors (AC & DC), Motor Control Centers (MCC), Neutral Grounding Resistors (NGR) and Battery Chargers.

Prepare and/or review one-line and three-line diagrams with respect to project specifications and inputs.

Preparation of Electrical Layout Drawing (including junction boxes, conduits run, wiring)

Preparation of Electrical Wiring Diagrams, Electrical schematics, Electrical Load list, Cable lists.

Proficiency in 3D Modelling of Electrical components using design software tools.

Experience with appropriate selection of Electrical components as per the standards.

Adding support details to the 3D model for Junction Boxes, Conduits, Cable trays.

Participate in cable, conduit and/or cable tray sizing calculations along with engineer.

Evaluation of cut-sheets/Datasheets for electrical components; turbine generator, transformer, DG, Cables, Electrical Panels, UPS etc.

Preparation of Electrical load list, cable list and Bill of Materials (BoM)

Proficient with schematics, Bills of Materials for Electrical equipment, junction boxes, etc.

Reviewing customer specification and provide possible technical options/ solutions that meet customer requirements.

Support to production during the assembly, construction and testing. Required knowledge/Skills, education, and experience.

Develop substation relaying & metering diagrams (i.e. A.C. schematic diagrams), and D.C. Schematic diagrams.

Exposure with Lighting design concepts and smart lighting methodologies and can perform lighting calculations using s/w like DIALux, will be added advantage.

Exposure to High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC), and/or Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) technology is an added advantage.

Front-ending customer interaction to manage all technical topics, including technical construction and procurement topics.

Awareness of Electrical Codes & Standards; IEC, NEC, IEEE, UL for electrical components.

Review vendor documentation, as necessary.

Practical site exposure on Erection and Commissioning of all electrical installation works will be added advantage.

Ability to clearly articulate and communicate (verbal, writing) in english language with global stakeholders.

Maintain & continuously adopt new technical skills and knowledge, with the evolving product lifecycle and subsequent requirements
