Supporting safety and setting the expectations

Providing resources for safety

Participating in creating safety goals and continuous improvement plans

Participating in decisions on safety program development.

Advising on safety measures, conducting risk assessments, and enforcing preventative measures .

Implementing and communicating a health and safety policy that outlines the plan of action and the rules for the workplace1.

Creating a health and safety committee or representative to monitor and address health and safety issues1.

Implementing control measures to eliminate or reduce hazards and risks1.

Providing ongoing training to workers on health and safety procedures and practices1.

Following all reasonable safety instructions, using equipment and personal protective equipment carefully, and reporting hazards, accidents, injuries or near misses2.

To advise and assist the factory management in the fulfillment of its obligation, statutory or otherwise, concerning prevention of personal injuries and maintaining a safe working environment.

(i) to advise the concerned departments in a factory in planning and organizing measures necessary for the effective control of personal injuries. (ii) to check and evaluate the effectiveness of the action taken or proposed to be taken to prevent personal injuries. (iii) to advise on safety aspects in all job studies, and to carry out detailed job safety studies of selected jobs (iv) to advise the purchasing and stores department in ensuring high quality and availability of personal protective equipment; (v) to provide advice on matters related to carrying out plant safety inspections ; (vi) to carry out plant safety inspections in order to observe the physical conditions of work and the work practices and procedures followed by the workers and to render advice on measures .
