Position Summary:

Provides operational leadership to ensure the efficient operation of daily transportation tasks/services. The Logistics Transportation Supervisor is responsible for supervising and monitoring the activities of the drivers and equipment in accordance with our policy, procedures, and leasing agreements for equipment. Supervises personnel and ensures that scheduled deliveries operate efficiently, safely, within budget constraints and in compliance with operating procedures and all laws and regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Monitors all phases of daily transportation operations of drivers and fleet.

Actively participates and/or drives routing processes and load mapping for all OB loads.

Assists the Transportation Manager with directing and planning the scheduling of deliveries to customers, resolves driver and route issues as they may develop throughout the day.

Assists the Transportation Manager with regulatory oversight and implementation of DOT requirements to ensure compliance with all state, local and federal regulations.

Assists Transportation Manager with accomplishing Transportation human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling and disciplining staff; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies, procedures and work rules.

Supervises, instructs, and conducts routine checks of drivers relative to schedule adherence, route, hours of service/logs and ensuring drivers are adhering pre-trips and post-trips, safety, uniform regulation, general appearance, physical condition of driver.

Responsible for overseeing all aspects of maintenance to include reporting all driver reported issues and partnering with RDP vendors on the scheduling of all maintenance related items to ensure RDP's Fleet is compliant.

Responsible for maintaining RDP's Customer Keyboard to include all aspects of adding and removing customers from the board, communicating changes to leadership, and ensuring all keys are returned upon completion of routes.

Responsible for upkeep of multiple trackers and tools along with some data entry.

Responsible for the timely reporting of all miles and hours on our leased equipment to the proper leasing company on a monthly basis.

Monitors idle times for entire fleet to ensure cost savings by reducing unnecessary idle time.

Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications; participating in professional organizations.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent required; desired a B.A. or B.S. degree or 5 years of responsible experience in transportation including two years of experience in a supervisor capacity and/or combination of education and experience.

Familiarity of DOT requirements to ensure compliance with all state, local and federal regulations.

Knowledge of geography, mathematics, and computer applications.

Excellent interpersonal and communications skills including both written and oral.

Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.

Decision Making, Managing Processes.

Tracking budget expenses.
