Schedule: Monday- Thursday 3:30PM- 2:00AM

This individual will be required to set up and operate machine tools, fit and assemble parts to fabricate tools, mechanisms, and machines by performing the following duties:

Major Position Responsibilities

Supervises the setup, operation, programming, testing, and quality of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) equipment according to blueprint specifications.

Provides instruction and training to junior machinists on machining equipment, set up, troubleshooting, and inspection data interpretation to improve junior machinists’ skill set.

Oversees quality in accordance with control procedures for form, fit, and function of product.

Supervises the reading and interpreting of complex engineering blueprints and design models to setup and execute work assignments.

Develop and enact effective processes for ensuring safe practices and preventing delays in production.

Oversees and may perform operator-specified maintenance duties and assist in general repairs as requested and may also provide direct, hands-on support in programming and overseeing CNC machine operation.

Leads and directs the work of other employees and has some responsibility for personnel actions related to hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions with concurrence from HR & General Managers.

Basic Qualifications

Required Education: Associate's Degree OR Equivalent Combination of Relevent Education & Experience

Preferred Education: Associate's Degree

Years and Area of Experience (required for the role): 3-5 years of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Machine operation. Machine programming. Machine shop production processes. Manufacturing milling. Dexterity. Numerical control. Precision machining. Precision measurement. Quality inspection. Reading blueprints/diagrams. Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software. Collaboration. Leadership skills. Supervision.

Critical Professional Related Technical Skills; Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Physical Demands:

Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.

Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.

Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.

May need to stand for long periods of time.

Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.

This position is Safety Sensitive.

May be requested to work a different shift.

Other job-specific working conditions: Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.
