Job Description

Sign Guys NYC is a multi-specialty sign company in NYC, dedicated to high-quality service for our clients. We focus on design and installation for new construction.

We have an immediate opening for a mid-level graphic designer for interdisciplinary projects including signage, graphics, and print. This position is ideal for an experienced designer with 3 years of solid experience working in a collaborative environment. The designer is involved in the full life of projects: from construction documents and shop drawings, to production. We are looking for a designer who is positive, passionate, and has new ideas to share.

Our team is unique: we undertake projects that involve multiple kinds of signage and work with architects, graphic designers, and project managers. Projects will always encompass more than one design discipline, and we welcome designers who are interested in working on exciting and challenging projects.

Requirements:

Excellent design skills

Excellent English typography skills(spelling and typing)

Beginner or intermediate Spanish is a plus but not required

Well-versed in working with imagery, visual systems, color, and grids

3 years of experience requested, but not required.

Advanced skills in Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator), Knowledge of CAD, a plus but not required

Knowledge of CMYK separations for pre-press production, silk-screening

Experience reading architectural drawings is a plus but we can teach you

A well-organized, detail-oriented, can-do attitude

Comfort working as part of a team and leading junior designers

Articulate and poised with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Experience working any of the following is a plus but not required: exhibitions, media installations, signage and environmental graphics

Our company is located in New York City, primarily because a significant portion of our work involves hands-on tasks such as examining materials and collaborating closely with our team. Therefore, we are specifically seeking candidates who are based locally to ensure seamless participation in these on-site activities. We are currently an in-office workplace with optional hybrid remote.

Must be able to commute to Long Island City, NY 11101

Schedule: 8-hour shift, Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime/weekend required.
