Job Description: This individual will use their expert knowledge to understand the customer’s vehicle, trailer, or RV
problems and explain the needs to the shop team of technicians via notes on the shop ticket. This position will also
handle the scheduling of appointments, monitor repairs status, and process orders for all repair jobs as soon as they are complete. The service writer position will work Monday – Friday during normal business hours.
Responsibilities:
Develop relationship with customers through successful management of service
Track vehicle repairs and keep customers up to date on the status of their vehicle or trailer
Advise the Director of Operations each morning of that day’s ticket schedule
Record detailed notes of issues onto the shop ticket
Enter details of repair job into TEI database and generate workorder for the shop
Provide cost estimate to the customer
Act as liaison between the customer and the shop as needed
Print out invoices and explain billing details to customer
Process customer payment via cash, check, or credit card
Answer office phones and schedule customer appointments
Any other duties as assigned by the Parts Advisor or Director of Operations
Requirements:
Product knowledge and some experience preferred
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer skills
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to understand and relate technical issues to service technicians
Should have a “team first” attitude and maintain our team atmosphere even in stressful situations
Have a strong attention to detail
Manage time efficiently
Must pass a drug screening
